Is the character limit appropriate length?

Some want it longer, others are fine with it being just the way it is.

What's your opinion?

I like the character length the way it is.  2000 characters is 300 words or less.  That's about average for a High School essay.  It keeps everything intense and reasonably brief.  I've discovered that I like to write (a lot).  Limiting everything improves my TED experience.   If I see a video or find a comment on a conversation that really provokes a response. I have to sharpen my thinking and use each character wisely.  That's good!
